Subject: Unbalanced sound in 2010? / Who was Kevin Young Jr.?

Here in Sweden we saw episode 2010 yesterday.  My impression was that
the stereo sound was seriously unblanced during most of the episode,
with much more volume on the left channel.  Did anyone else notice
this?  Does anybody have an explanation for this?

Episode 2001 ended with a dedication to the memory of Kevin Young Jr.
Who was he?
