I strongly vote against the "emotion" that the super-natural element made the show "disappointingly silly." I am surprised to find that so many people have been unaware of the "super-natural" element in the show this long. Sarah had mentioned at least one dream and two visions since the show started in the FIRST SEASON, and we also saw clues from Cooper's FIRST dream come true in the FIRST season. Sarah's "vision" of the necklace being taken by Jacoby was, in fact, not just a vision but clairvoiance (excuse the spelling). Further, the poem in Cooper's dream itself hinted at the supernatural where Mike mentions "the magician" and "one chance out between two worlds" -- I thought this element was one of the things that made people so interested in the show in the first place. Also, what is this about coded radio signals from space or from earth to space??? When the "radio signal message" episode aired, I was certain that the messages were not from another planet since it is likely that the signal would take more time to reach Earth than the time that had elapsed since Laura's death. Regardless of this technical detail, Major Briggs later told us himself that the signals were coming FROM THE WOODS. It's highly likely that the White Lodgers (or whoever was sending the signals) knew that they were "being watched" by Major Briggs et al. and intentionally sent the message out that way. Nevertheless, although I am excited rather than put-off by the increasingly present super-natural element in the show, I feel that many people have been disheartened by this, leading to a drop in viewership.
