Subject: The (Black?) Shadows From: sjohnson@texas.vlsi.sgi.com (Scott Johnson) Date: 1991-03-15, 00:58 Newsgroups: alt.tv.twin-peaks Well, I for one have had enough of reading about horses, wood puns, ads, Neilsons, etc., etc. How about a questions as to the show (remember it?). I noticed something upon re-viewing 2011 (or somewhere around there.) It was the one after the Major disappears. Coop gets in a discussion about the Major, and the subject of the White Lodge comes up, upon which Hawk shudders. He explains the White Lodge (the house of the perfect self, or something or other), and then the Black Lodge (the house of the shadow self; here one must pass to get to the White Lodge, but must face, with absolute courage, his shadow self). Please correct me if my poor memory slants the interpretation. Anyway, upon hearing this I thought (of course) of the last thing the Major said (2013/4 ?), "Meanwhile, Gentlemen, I'll be in the Shadows." What is the Major up to? Is he attempting to pass through the Black Lodge? He mentioned his dissappointment with his co-workers, citing their lack of integrity. Maybe he wants to conquer this, or just experience it. Hey, this may have been mentioned already. I know I've passed many a article in my attempt to avoid the above mentioned tangents. If I also passed up this, discussed previously, tell me to shut up, and I'll do my own theorizing. Otherwise, I'd be interested to know what y'all think. sj ----- "Don't flaunt that the candy is good unless you can get plenty." - Plug One
