Subject: A Way to Help Twin Peaks From: UN040377@WVNVAXA.WVNET.EDU Date: 1991-03-18, 00:54 Newsgroups: alt.tv.twin-peaks This message is for those of you who, like me, want to see Twin Peaks continued for a third season. Almost definitely, Bob Iger and ABC will use the next six episodes on Thursday nights to test TP's viewership. If it fails in the ratings, Peaks is finished (although it's hard to tell what they would consider "good" ratings against Cheers.) In light of this, the more people who watch these episodes, especially on 3/28, the better the chances of seeing Peaks next year. What I have done is to make a sign "advertising" the return of Twin Peaks. Next Sunday or Monday, I am going to place photocopies of this sign on bulletin boards all around our campus (I'm waiting until then because signs here always get torn down within a week or so) suggesting that people give Twin Peaks a try instead of watching Cheers that night, as they usually do. I urge everyone who reads this to do this on their campuses or wherever they can. It doesn't take very long at all. And even if this gets only a few more viewers for Peaks, every little bit helps (and right now I'd say the show needs all the help it can get. I personally don't think it has too much of a chance the way it is.) Just get a marker and paper, make a sign, photocopy it, and put it on as many bulletin boards as you can. It WILL help, at least a little. Mine says: DON'T WATCH ANOTHER BORING CHEERS RE-RUN THIS THURSDAY NIGHT! WATCH TWIN PEAKS ON ABC. GIVE IT A CHANCE; YOU MAY BE SURPRISED but you might want to add something about how there will be a prologue explaining what's happened so far so that people won't be lost when they tune in. Remember, if you really want to save Peaks, viewership is the only way, and every little bit helps! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Kenneth Bays | "Everyone looks naked when you un040377@wvnvms.wvnet.edu | know the world's address." - TMBG - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
