Subject: Actor in the vision of shot Copper

Last night I saw an episode (after that one in which Cooper was shot) where 
there was this tall actor telling riddles for Cooper (who was laying on the
floor few bullets in his stomach). Who was this actor and why he seems so
familiar to me ? (i.e. what other series/films has he been in ?)
