I think he did!

So, is he, like, basically this scam artist character?  And, his involvement
with the pine weasel is nothing but a hoax?  A way for him to get money from
people?  And, if so, this could be the reason that we, as of yet, have not
decided whether there *is* such a thing as a pine weasel.  It could just
be a ferret!
