I really like Luther's ideas about the owl-cave pattern:
it does indeed resemble a bird in flight with flames spurting
from its ass.  :-)  What I want to know is, did they
do the triangles-into-diamonds business, intentionally to be
strange?  As if to illustrate the workings of Coop's mind, that
he would add more triangles to the existing ones and get diamonds
out of them?

Hey.  Maybe he got those extra three triangles from the ones on 
Leo's hand.
