Subject: What is that gun doing there? From: ramos@aludra.usc.edu (Luis Ramos) Date: 1991-04-09, 23:51 Newsgroups: alt.tv.twin-peaks IT WAS MS. JONE's GUN Do you remember the gun which Harry tried to reach for while Ms. Jones was strangling Harry on the bed. As we probably already know, he fails to get it but manages to escape from her stranglehold by some other way. When I rewatched the previous episode (3/28) and this episode (4/4) in sequence, I noticed that it was Ms. Jones who placed that gun on the sidetable just before she slipped into bed. In fact, she appeared to be most particular with the way the gun was "arranged" on the sidetable (as if to make sure that it can be conveniently grabbed from the bed) or was I just imagining it? VCR JOCKS ALERT I also observed some possibly sloppy editing during this scene. When she bends over Harry for the first time and bends back up, the spaghetti strap of her lingerie falls off her right shoulder. On a succeeding cut, the strap is back up. Here's another one. If you watch the strangling closely, in one clip, you will notice Ms. Jones thumb caught around the "string thing" as she strangles him but in a succeeding clip it is not. THE LIQUID WORKS BOTH WAYS One final note. Most have posted that Harry saw Ms. Jones as Josie after she applied that liquid to his lips. Shouldn't it work both ways? When she applied the liquid to her own lips, could she have seen Harry as someone else and was so horrified that she unexpectedly decides to strangle him. Louie
