Isn't it obvious that the black box and at least some of the petraglyphs
are a timing thing?  I'd suspect "something" is going to happen on a 
particular date.  Probably the locations/entrances to the Lodges will 
be revealed or at least accessible on a particular night.  WE to the 
Black Lodge and Cooper to the White.  Shades of Gandalf/Saruman.
