I'm sure you are right about having all kinds of loose ends left dangling. But I got the impression that we were trying to come up with an explanation that would clarify things, regardless of whether or not it is what Lynch et al. have in mind. So long as the Grand Unifying Theory is relatively consistent, enlightening, and interesting, it meets any discipline's criteria for a theory. We aren't trying to predict the ending, just trying to make sense of all that appears to be happening in TP. Carol
