I agree, of course, and have already posted to the same effect. . .
but it *is* interesting to note that Bob's arm doesn't cast a shadow
when he sticks it into the beam.  This makes a weird kind of sense if
we assume the beam is more of a spiritual than a physical phenomenon.
The actual physical explanation probably has to do with a continuity
screwup on the matte shot (I'm assuming the trees and BOB were not
shot at the same time).
