Perhaps he touched the appropriate astrological and phase-of-the-moon
symbols for the dates in question?  Of course, this would raise the
question of how he knew those right off...it implies a pretty serious
interest in astrology...or maybe that's just what he was doing for the
year-and-a-half he was supposed to be dead?
