Subject: the Giant's "host"

Forgot to mention this in an earlier post.  Sorry if it's been discussed -
I have a very slow newsfeed.

The giant appeared this time in the place of Mayor Milford.  Several possible
reasons:

 1. The giant can be hosted by any *older* person, not just Senor Drool Cup.

 2. SDC is the Giant's only host.  The giant's appearance this time was merely
a vision, not a "hosting", and that's why the Giant couldn't speak this time.

 3. SDC was close by, and we didn't see him.

 4. The message this time was so urgent that the Giant was able to bypass the
need for a host altogether.  I doubt this, since Maddy's death was no less
urgent than Annie's possible death (unless Annie has some cosmic importance we
don't know about yet.)

 5. The writers really needed the Giant to appear, but the actor who plays
SDC was not available, so they just improvised.
