Last night (4/24/91) CNN Headline reported that because of the popularity
of Twin Peaks outside the US a number of European backers were talking
with the shows producers about funding  additional episodes.

No mention of where the new show would be distributed.
Who knows, we may be relying on posts from outside the States for
information on next seasons developments.
So don't forget those spoilers.  :-)
