Well, I just caught up on the past two weeks of the newsgroup (after haing
been incredibly busy for awhile)...

My favorite prediction is that Laura will, indeed, be chosen Miss Twin Peaks.
This could well drive Windom Earl right over the edge, since the person he
had planned to kill dramatically is >already dead<!

I haven't checked my tape, but I believe that the Mayor said that one of the
other judges would be Norma Jennings (I forget the third).  This would lead
to serious complications were Annie to run -- but not as bad as if Lana were
to win, and her connection (as it were) to the Mayor were known.

The big hint I got from the book however, was...

... that Agent Cooper either does not survive the battle, or does not remaing
on this plane. The "editor" of the autobiography is missing some critical
information that, if Coop were still around, he could have asked him. Similarly,
the editor seems to consider Cooper an important enough character to compile
and publish the tapes. This would seem most likely were Coop either a known
hero or a known mystery figure.

I think that if TP continues, funded by the Europeans or something, it will
have a radically different focus.

I heard the term that others heard as Dugpas as "Dookwus". I swiveled right
around and whooped, since the term was so similar to the Bookwus, about which
someone had posted early in the history of the group.

Another favorite prediction: that Ben will be revealed to have fathered then
killed Laura, after all, with BOB using Leland as a temporary stooge. Ben
would not remember it, and BOB might well have planted false memories in Leland,
as another stage in his game of "Freak the Humans". I think this might give
maximum back-for-the-buck, with WKLP actually only >appearing< to have been
answered in 2007-9. This, along with Laura's reappearance and Cooper's death
or transfiguration would bring the show to a pleasing though disorienting
sense of closure.

I, for one, will be glad when Twin Peaks ends, for purely selfish reasons
-- it's taking up almost as much of my time as my so-called "real" life.

On the other hand, whatever happened to that big book that one of the Frosts
was working on, showing the history of Twin Peaks, focusing on 40 years ago?
