I thought Donna cried at that particular time because the words of the song Julie Cruise was singing triggered a reaction in here. Of course the genuis of Twin Peaks is the multiple possibilties for everything. I bet both her crying and brilliant lip synching earlier in that episode were improvised by the director, Lynch, during the rehearsals. Does anybody remember in the two hour episode that opened the second season, which Lynch also directed, the expressions on Donna's and Maddie's faces when Leland was doing his shtick at "The Hayward Supper Club"? They were laughing not an actresses' laugh, but a real uncontrolable laugh. I think Lynch and Ray Wise didn't tell anybody specificly what was he was going to do in his "routine". I also noticed that when Lynch appears as Gordon Cole, the other actors seem to perk-up a bit. Often you can tell they are having trouble holding back the laughter. David Lynch seems to have a magnetizim which brings out the creativity and natural talent with those he works with. Phil
