Rigor Mortis?

I loved David Lynch's sort of pulp names for characters, "The
One-Armed Man" (not original, but still!), "The Well-dressed Man",
"The Yellow Man", "The Man From Another Place", "The Log Lady", etc.
Actually they sort of sound like something out of a Big Little Book.
I can just picture the crude black and white cartoon image with the
caption "Suddenly the One-Armed Man Screamed!". With a little
flip-book in the margins featuring an owl or something (nostalgic
sigh!).
