I had assumed that the yellow man was in some sort of vegetative state
near death, but had not yet lost enough blood or autonervous function
to die.  The main reason I thought this was because when his radio started
blaring, his arm jerked up in front of him.  That sort of precludes rigor
mortis.  Of course, he was destined to die soon as Frank was on his way.
Great imagery as Frank made the yellow man sit down.  Blam!
