One bug with this (rather nifty) theory: If this were true, as I understand what you're saying, then Laura of the Lodge would not know who had killed the earthly Laura, since from her viewpoint it wouldn't have happened yet... > > Consider also, that if the movie addresses the time prior to Laura's > > death, the Black lodge timeline would have advanced an equal amount into > > its future, and they should therefore know what happened to Dale and > > Annie. Let's face it - Kyle MacLachlan WILL be in the movie! Some random speculation re: the movie... I've had a sneaky suspicion (voiced here before) that Leland did >not< kill Laura, but that BOB had possessed >Ben< up until the end of the first season. At that point, to confuse issues, BOB left Ben and entered Leland. Results of this: . Leland's hair turned white (like BOB's?) . Ben lost his marbles for a while. . BOB started dropping clues leading Coop to Leland This would also posit that, like Donna, Laura's real (physical) father was also Ben. I wouldn't be surprised if BOB would have played with Sarah's memory to make her not recall this. The results of Sarah's encounter with BOeBn would have long lasting effects, causing her to have the visions and the communication with Major Briggs. This could make for a shocking end to TP:TMP -- everything goes as we know it did, >except< the killer is revealed to be Ben, not Leland. That could well throw audiences for a loop, and would have the effect of, in a sense, trashing and reconstructing our understanding of what happened in much of the series (thus, if the movie is successful enough, prompting Fox or something to bring back reruns as a miniseries, much as they did with "V"). My guess is that the movie would follow parallel story lines: one following Laura, and the other following Coop in the investigation of the murder of Theresa Banks. Possible intertwinings might include: . An early interconnection between Laura, Theresa, and Ronette . A link between Ben (and possibly BOB), One Eyed Jacks, the Renault Brothers, Leo, some counterparts where Theresa is from, and Fleshworld magazine . The appearances in dreams of the Blue Man to Coop, and Laura's visions . Coop's precognition of the Red Room dream (mentioned in his autobiography). . Earlier appearances of MIKE connected to Theresa . BOB and MIKE's separation, and what actually led MIKE to cut off arm. After Laura's death (and transfiguration?), the movie would conclude with his entering the town of Twin Peaks, and the first tape to Diane. However, the footage of Coop driving would show stuff from different angles that we didn't see at the beginning of the show -- stuff (like owls leading or following the cars, as in a presidential caravan) that would now be known to be ominous... It is happening again. It is happening again. It is happening again. Joe Zitt ...cs.utexas.edu!kvue!zitt!joe (512)450-1916
