Subject: Doubles abound From: eric@talos.npri.com (Eric Williams) Date: 1991-06-17, 14:15 Newsgroups: alt.tv.twin-peaks After reading some of this group's comments, my associative juices flowed and something that bugged me at first sort of makes sense now. That some- thing was the fact (as noted elsewhere) that Bobby gets knocked on the head with a log and Mike (later) appears hurt from an accident with a tree, yet Bobby is fine. Now at the beginning of the show, Mike and Bobby were the best of chums, almost halves of one unit, although I'd resist trying to assign one evil v. good qualities. In the midst of all this doubling, could the log-injury sustained by Bobby (inflicted by the WE/log-lady double) have migrated over to Mike? Could the scene at the *double*-R be the sugar-coated double of what was actually happening "the morning after"? Could reality and time around TP become skewed due to the goings on in the Black Lodge? Thoughts to ponder, perhaps not to answer. Also: Has anyone considered that the spirit of the One-Armed Man now resides in Ben? (He wants to do SO MANY GOOD DEEDS.) Could the tumultuous forces at work have caused Donna's (apparent) father to brain him and thus put him on the defense? Could the threat to Leo really be he's scared to death of spiders? Heckuva lotta questions... eric@npri.com -- OR -- ...uunet!uupsi!npri6!eric Eric C. Williams/ NPRI/ Alexandria, VA/(703) 683-9090 "Don't even try to figure this out unless you have to." -Xlib Prog.
