Subject: original script #002 (excerpt) From: ma2cs240@uhura.cc.rochester.edu (Gian Di Loreto) Date: 1991-06-17, 17:35 Newsgroups: alt.tv.twin-peaks Hello all, I recieved a complete first draft of the pilot (entitled Northwest passage) and episodes #001 and #002 as a gift. They were apparently bought in Los Angeles at some shadey store that sells this kind of thing. They are not originals, but they are alleged to be xeroxs of the originals. At any rate, they follow what we have seen on TV with a few minor exceptions except for this scene which occurs just before the dream sequence. You will recall that the interrogation of the one-armed man in which he identifies the man in Mrs. Palmers vision as BOB originaly takes place at the Police Station (I think), here it takes place at the hospital. A = Andy Brennen OA = one-armed man (Mike) T = Truman Coop, C = Coop Bob = Bob The things in brackets [] are mine A stands in the doorway. OA stands in the shadows of the room. C and T carrying two police sketches, join A A: He's unarmed [get it?]. He wants to see you and he wants to see you in this particular room. C and T turn towards the man OA: Don't turn on the overheads. The flourescents don't work. I think a transformer's bad. C: We know that OA: Yes wasn't Laura Palmer here earlier? "Through the darkness of futures past, the magician longs to see, one chance out between two worlds ... fire, walk with me"... We lived among the people. I think you say, convenience store. We lived above it. I mean it like it is, like it sounds ... my name is Mike. His name is Bob. C: You were in an elevator here. OA: I was looking for Bob. He sometimes works among the infirm, the injured of the species. I was watching, Mr. Cooper, for over a year. Waiting for Bob to come out again. I've known of your interests in the results of his endevours... I too have been touched by the devilish one. Tattoo on the left shoulder... oh but when I saw the face of God, I was changed. I took the entire arm off. T and C look at each other. T: We'd like to shoe [sic] you a police sketch of Bob, for verification. OA: Of course (Truman holds up a Bogus sketch) No, no that's not Bob. (Truman holds up the correct sketch) That is Bob. T: (to coop) That's the man Mrs. Palmer identified. Coop: Where is Bob? OA: He's here. Right here. He's downstairs, in the basement CUT TO INT. HOSPITAL BASEMENT BOILER ROOM - NIGHT Coop and T enter the basement, gun drawn. KILLER BOB, the frightening long-haired man, crouches over a circle of candles on the far side of the room Bob's hadn reaches in and sets down half of a heart necklace onto a pile of dirt in the center of the candles. T and Coop advance. Bob rises. Bob: (strangely) Hello. Welcome to the killer's lair. Come down, I won't hurt you. Come down ... is Mike with you? Coop: No. Bob: Oh I so much wanted to sing with him again. Mike? Mike can you hear me? "Heads up, Tails up, running to your scallyway/night falls, morning calls, catch you with my Death Bag." T: The letters. What were the letters going to spell? Bob: Robert. That's my proper name. Teresa's was a "t". Coop: That's right. Behind Cooper and Truman. unseen by them, Mike is coming up behind them, a gun in his hand. Bob: You may think I've gone insane. But I promise I will kill again! OA: Ahh! Like Hell! Mike runs up and fires his gun twice. Bob goes down, mortally wounded. Mike clutches a pole and twists to the ground, in agon- izing sympathetic pain. OA: (Continued) Bob...Bob, it hurts something terrible...wait ...wait your turn, Bob...oh Bob...wait till you turn... Mike dies. T takes his gun away. Coop looks over at the candles Coop: Make a wish A breeze blows out the candles... A title card reads: TWENTY-FIVE YEARS LATER INT. RED-DRAPED ROOM - DAY [now comes the dream, it is pretty much the same] hope you enjoyed that, I will post any other discrepancies I come across.
