Dopplegangers are associated with doulbes (of people). They are considered
to be mischievous beings interested in promoting chaos. In Christopher
Stashev's (<-- ? spelling) "Warlock Series" the method for getting rid of a
doppleganger is provided. ie. Turn your coat, and whistle... which translates
 to put your clothes on insideout and whistle a tune. Another method mentioned
 is to banish the spector with the statement: "Get thee hence" this, suggests
that the doppleganger is a evil creature that would fear the "rath of God".
Decide for yourself what a doppleganger is in Twin Peaks, the usual reference
