Hmmm...  I thought that it was Cooper banging his head in the mirror, trying
to kill himself so that BOB would have to return to the Black Lodge, or 
else trying to hurt himself to draw attention to the fact that he was not
acting normally and the others should look out.  Unfortunately, BOB was
too powerful for him, it seems.
