I find it difficult to believe that if David Lynch sets his mind (and his collaborators' minds) to it that it would be impossible to produce a script which Kyle MacLachlan would *want* to do. Perhaps the rumored "prequel" idea doesn't appeal much to him - it doesn't do much for me, either. Hopefully, the writing team will take this as a challenge, and not as the final defeat.
