Subject: SK's "Golden Years" gets strange? From: SASTPH@vm.sas.com (Tim Hunter) Date: 1991-08-09, 05:29 Newsgroups: rec.arts.tv,alt.tv.twin-peaks Well, I guess Big Steve and his "Golden Years" colleagues have been noticing that nobody's watching the show. Last night's episode surely cranked up the strangeness level, didn't it? Our hero's eyes turn green and the sun rises again! He sets foot on ground only to cause an earthquake! I would say that this kind of plotting would go head-to-head with anything Messrs. Lynch and Frost ever came up with for "Twin Peaks." Now the question is, will the producers wimp out? Everytime I see a little evidence that somebody in TV-land is bold enough to go for real fantasy, I tune in to the next episode and they tell me it was all a dream or something. Remember how promising TP was, along about episode three, only to have it degrade into cheap soap-opera a few weeks later? Well, I guess I'll HAVE to tune in next Thursday and see whether King, et. al., have the stomach for it.
