Subject: New TP HyperCard stack at ftp site From: larryy@Apple.COM (Larry Yaeger) Date: 1991-08-13, 20:27 Newsgroups: alt.tv.twin-peaks Well, this also answers the latest query on where the ftp site is located... Peter Asenstorfer, our erudite ftp site administrator, has just informed me that a file I dropped at the ftp site has now been moved to the usual /pub/twin-peaks area, in a new Hypercard_Stacks subdirectory. This is on audrey.sait.edu.au, or 130.220.16.88. [Note, Peter will announce next week, probably, that after Aug. 17 (this Saturday!) the TP archives will be relocated to audrey.levels.unisa.edu.au. He expects the IP number to stay the same.] The new stack is file /pub/twin-peaks/Hypercard_Stacks/TPBSCompanion.sit.Hqx. This stands for Twin Peaks Bed Side Companion (version 2.0). It is by Mark F. Lewis, and may be freely distributed so long as it is not for profit, and neither the stack nor the copyright notice is changed. This is a great stack, with nicely crossreferenced character relationships, plot synopses for every episode, some credits, a list of continuity errors, and other fun stuff. It was obviously a labor of love for Mark, who did this work purely from his own research, even though I offered to provide him with suitable materials from a.t.tp and the ftp site. The stack has been compressed using Stuffit 1.5.1 and then converted to simple ASCII by BinHex 4.0. Using those two applications in reverse should recover the stack with no other manipulations required. I believe you will need HyperCard 2.0 or later to run the stack (and, of course, a Mac). There is also a README file in the Stuffit archive, that Mark asked to be distributed with the stack; it is very short, and is a TeachText document (TeachText is distributed free by Apple).
