I think NE will continue to be popular *because* it's a little different, but not threatening. I love NE, don't get me wrong, but it isn't a challenge in the way Twin Peaks was. It's delightful, like St. Elsewhere (although S.E. had it's dark moments--maybe that's why it never did too well in the ratings). Hey: first SE, now NE from Brand and Falsey.
