Well, yes I think he has: the endings of "Wild at Heart", "Blue Velvet and of the first series of TP all seemed a lot more positive than this one. IMHO, David does not like to see evil triumphant, though it may not necessarily be destroyed. I think what he had in mind was an interesting start to a third series, without the problems that occured at the start of series 2, with Bob dead and no reason for Cooper to remain.But no third series has eventuated as yet. As for the rest of the final episode, I enjoyed it a lot, especially with DL back in the directorial chair. I thought Kyle seemed to enjoy the role of the evil Cooper, but I can't blame him, since Cooper has been such a zero for so long! (This line is meant to provoke) I hope this posts OK.
