Subject: Dont call me Salmon Rushdie, please. As I have said before, I liked the 4 hour version that apparently only appeared here in the midwest United States. But there were some redeeming events in this version. Those of you who watch this board frequently will remember that I had asked what exactly the reference to the gum meant. The dwarf seems to know. I was a little dissappointed that BOB didn't talk in that cool version of english (reversed). I had a thought that I might share with you. Seeing as Dave Lynch is into a sort of Neo-Bhuddist-Islamic-Judeo-cult thing (as justification I refer you to DUNE and all of its islamic references, even though they come from Herbert and Coop's emphatuation with Tibet). Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't there a theme running thru Bhuddism or perhaps Islam that we are given signposts (portents, etc) on our trek to nirvanna, or something like that? It's been a long time since my East Asian Religion classes, but I think I remember something about that. Therefore, after much rambling, couldn't the Giant simply be a marker, portent, sign, or whatever. Justification: His only purpose seems to be relaying information as in "it is happening again..."etc. He is unable to enter into real-time actions, and only appears to cooper. Thoughts? I don't mind if you refute my claims on Bhuddism or Islam, and I meant no disrespect. As a simple Humanist, I do not claim to know anything. 2fowGODSON@kuhub.cc.ukans.edu
