Does anyone out there know if, in particular, > >there is anyway for Prodigy users to read and post to this newsgroup? > >Email responses, please. > > For the benefit (?) of readers at large: Fidonet: 'dunno. CompuServe: I've followed TP discussions in CompuServe's Showbiz Forum from time to time. The postings are not the same. Prodigy: There is no gateway from Prodigy to the Internet, or to anything else, for that matter. It's a closed system; you can only communicate with other Prodigy members on Prodigy. Rich's question sparks me to put in my $0.02 on other "electronic" Twin Peaks discussions. Of the couple other sources I've followed, this newsgroup right here is by far the best, most insightful, and most intelligent. ;) I only look for TP discussions on CompuServe occasionally, on account of $$$. There doesn't seem to be as much activity there as here ($$$, again?), but I'm not "regular" enough to be an authority on this. One interesting note on CompuServe is that I've seen an occasional posting by Bill Greenblatt, who says he is the father of James Marshall (James Hurley). Some interesting tidbits: James was often bored with his story line, which he "was not responsible for." He had left the show to work on _GLADIATOR_ and Lynch was very cooperative in letting him go. James was also selling his 1986 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail, signed by David Lynch, for $25,000. As for Prodigy: Please don't flame me for being elitist, but the discussion on Prodigy is much more mundane, possibly because it caters to a broader, "simpler," kindler, gentler audience. Things really dropped off (nearly disappeared!) after the series ended, but with the movie in production, there's been a bit more activity. Still, the postings generally seem less informed and less interesting. In any case, this newsgroup (IMHO) gets top honors. I don't blame you, Rich, for wanting to know if you can stay with it off the Internet. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ty Warner U40643@uicvm.cc.uic.edu Prodigy: FNHC17A CompuServe: 76011,2572
