No, Bob didn't appear in the pilot. His "first appearance" was in the
additional footage shot for the Euroversion of the pilot. Some of this
footage showed up in Episodes 1001 and 1002 as (in the former) Sarah
Palmer's vision of Bob at the foot of Laura's bed and (in the latter)
as part of Cooper's dream.
