Subject: Today's Frost report From: raveling@Unify.com (Paul Raveling) Date: 1991-09-24, 13:38 Newsgroups: alt.tv.twin-peaks I haven't been following Peaks the movie much, but the subject did come up briefly last night in a phone convesation with Scott Frost (my cousin-in-law). About all I found out was... --Scott did some work on the movie as a consultant. He says the first third of the script is "pretty bizarre", but of course that's natural where David Lynch is involved. --The movie is in fact (approximately) about the last week of Laura Palmer's life, so it won't tie off any loose ends left by the TV series. --Except for Sheryl Lee, most of the acting goes to new people. Many of the "old regulars" have only a couple days' production work, Kyle MacLachlan has only about a week's work. Lara Flynn Boyle didn't want the job, so there's a new actress as Donna Hayward. --There's about a week of shooting left on location; then it'll move indoors to the studios in Van Nuys. Aside from Peaks, Scott's recent writing includes some for Frost/Lynch, some for others. The Frost/Lynch work included a pilot and at least one episode of a new comedy about the early days of TV. ABC bought the pilot and ordered scripts for 7 episodes, but hasn't authorized production beyond the pilot (yet). It remains to be seen whether this will become a new series, but it sounds like it could be a great vehicle for the humor that I've always considered to be Scott's forte. ------------------ Paul Raveling Raveling@Unify.com
