Subject: "Fire Walk With Me" visit (part 2-long) From: rhaller@phloem.uoregon.edu (Rich Haller) Date: 1991-10-12, 12:38 Newsgroups: alt.tv.twin-peaks They were filming inside one of the motel rooms. Ray Wise's chair was there as was a convertible that might have been the one he drove in the famous golf club scene, but he was not on the set while we were there. The only other 'talent' we saw that day was a young lady with short, blond hair whom I didn't recognize. She was dressed in a very tight, short dress, but somewhat stylishly. If she was supposed to be a prostitute, it was a high class call girl, not a street hooker. David Lynch's son was on the set, but I don't think he was in this scene. All the shooting was inside one of the rooms. Most of the time, people just sat around waiting for the next shot. Outside the room was a shady area under a tarp where Lynch woul review video of the previous shot. I sauntered in and managed to get close enough while they were not actually filming to see Laura sitting on a bed in a filmy black negligee with her legs tucked under her. As far as I could tell, Laura was the only person in the room (besides all the crew) during the interior shots we saw. That is, no other actor ever went in or came out of the room. These might be reaction shots, though, that would be intercut with some other footage. One interesting thing was the contrast between the actual set and the shots we will see. As I said, Laura appeared to be the only actor in the room, and I suspect the scene we see will have at most one other person in it. The room itself and the open door way was crowded with people off camera. Another was how short the actual shots were. The ones we saw never lasted longer than 2 minutes, I would say. I don't recall seeing how much time is actually spent shooting footage on the average, but it's got to be well down below 5%, maybe even less than 1% of the time the actors are there.
