I too had to return a tape.  Number 6 in the set was defective.  It had
a horizontal line in the picture that rolled up slowly throughout the
tape.  When it got to the top, it lost sync for a split second and the
audio disappeared.  The replacement was OK.  No trouble with #001, though.
