Is somebody with you? } (Insert Shot: SOMEBODY (large) STEPS BEHIND A TREE OUT OF SIGHT) } Leo: (without looking): Never mind. } Leo obviously knew there was somebody with him Did he? Is it really that difficult to believe that he might have figured that Bobby was pulling his leg? } - and it was either Jaques or Bernie Renault It "was". Proof please. I don't want to hear "well, it must've been because they were his drug-running partners". I want to hear *proof*. Do you have the writer or director's sworn word that that's who it was? }} No, it's not so off-the-wall. Jacoby admitted to Cooper that he followed }} Leo (not naming him by name) on the night Laura died. Why shouldn't we }} imagine that he'd follow him in the days *after* Laura died, especially }} if he suspects that Leo might've had something to do with Laura's death? } First of all: it's a silly idea. The drug deal has nothing to do with } Jacoby and everything to do with the Renault brothers. So what? How do you know that the Renaults weren't up in Canada at the moment. They don't have to be present at every drug deal that Leo is doing. And since, as I stated, we know Jacoby followed Leo once before, so the fact that he was there DIDN'T HAVE TO HAVE ANY CONNECTION TO THE DRUG DEAL. Therefore your point isn't necessarily relevant. } And more relevantly: in 2001, in the hospital bed, Jacoby spilled all his } beans to Cooper, "doctor patient confidentiality" notwithstanding and he } never mentioned that he had followed Leo on any other occasion. Because it didn't have any relevance to the murder of Laura Palmer. } As I said, you should watch the episode again, IMO. Your memory seems } a little, and understandably, rusty with time. Don't leap to conclusions over which you have not a clue. Since I got the Japanese laserdisc set a couple of months ago, I've been working my way through the entire set. It hasn't been that long since I've watched that episode. -- "Buster, this trip downriver has been truly special.
