Windom was seeking power and was crazy enough to think he could control it
instead of vice-versa.

The Black Lodge is a center of power twisted to evil ends -- the opposite
of the White Lodge.  What is confusing is the White Lodge and the Black Lodge
are physically juxtaposed.

The wife of someone who was taken by the Bob (and/or the Black Lodge).  Her
husband's soul is trapped in the log she carries and can communicate to her.
The things it communicates includes future events.

You didn't see him in the Black Lodge -- you saw him in the White Lodge.
They are the same place, but not the same place.

evil twin (doppelgaenger) in the Black Lodge.

Bob already had Windom's soul.  Bob was just demonstrating his power over
Windom by subjecting his soul to torture.
