Subject: The Native American meaning of corn From: tallman%ailanth.uucp@wang.com (Robert Oliver) Date: 1992-09-02, 13:37 Newsgroups: alt.tv.twin-peaks I saw a book today about Native Amercian symbolism. While it did not have anything on owls, it did have a small section on corn. I can't remember everything it said, but what sticks in my mind is that corn is a symbol for earth, life, and more specifically, Mother Earth. This makes me think that the inhabitants of the Black Lodge (aliens?) are consuming not only the souls of humans, but the very essence of the planet itself! Perhaps the battle between the two Lodges concerns not just a small area of one state, but control over the entire planet. You could also connect this to the ecological problems of we face today--it's all BOB's fault!
