Regarding the numbers on the pole

and the previous post on how you can add them to get two 6s but not three 6s.
Here's another 6.

Take 2 and double it, you get 4.
Take 4 and double it, you get 8.
Take 8 and double it, and you should get 16.
But you actually have 10 which is 6 less than 16.
Hence the missing 6.
