I guess there can be a fine line between over-acting and just doing a well-defined character, but I think he pulls it off. The character is very similar to the one on "Eerie, Indiana", in terms of his twist for interpreting things in a bizarre way. I can see why they selected that actor for the role. (I loved the way he took on the Nun in the first episode...) I don't really dislike any of the other characters in the show. I've always liked Tom Skerritt -- it seems he's constantly showing up as a guest star in the early-60's shows I like to watch.
