To me there was need for a verb, not a noun > >here. Oh well... I assume you missed the recent posting of transcripts from the actual TP scripts. Once and for all, THE WORD WAS "CHANCE". As for the need for a verb there... well, it depends how you punctuate the poem. Most of those who believe the word is "chants" read it as "Through the darkness of futures past, the magician longs to see. One chants out between two worlds, 'Fire, Walk with me.'" (Sounds kinda simple and prosaic when phrased like that, doesn't it?) However, when you read the lines as all part of one sentence, they become "the magician longs to see one chance out between two worlds: FIRE. Walk with me." Now this version is much more elliptical and suggestive... more Lynchian, IMHO. It implies, perhaps, that the one chance out is the way of the fire -- of the devil? Considering that it is the word of BOB, that makes a twisted sort of sense...[src]

I am meant to understand their meaning or does > >it become apparent at a later time. Good question. They never explicitly explain that scene -- but it seems to me that BOB and Thomas Eckhardt had some kind of bond. Remember, when first we see Thomas, the camera focused on the fire reflected in his sunglasses? Either this was another attempt to tease the audience, or Eckhardt was also linked to the Black Lodge -- which would explain BOB's appearance. As for the drawer knob -- just a couple of thoughts. There is a spirit in the Log Lady's log. The dresser (and for that matter, most of the Great Northern) is mostly wood. Could it be that BOB has found a way of tucking Josie's spirit away for safekeeping?...[src]

I have to agree with a previous posting that the black/white lodge
setup appears to be based in the Christian ideas of heaven/hell/purgatory.
I thought this was fairly clear throughout.
Also, a microscopic bit of trivia - after watching an episode of the
ancient series Dukes of Hazard on the weekend I saw Hank from Tp starring as
the head bad guy. Everything I watch lately seems to have Tp actors in it!!
Doogie Howser had that girl from the second TP series(the one who married the 2
old guys) as Doogie's date. These are just 2 off the top of my head but have
other people out there noticed how many times the actors from Tp pop up in
other shows?
*************** S P O I L E R S ! ! ! ! ************************************
I have a question - it has been said that Cooper will be in the lodge for
another 50 years, but I believe it was to be 25 years from what Laura said in
the waiting room. Any thoughts?...

I was told that the woman who is playing Donna Hayward in the movie is
Moira Kelly. She played Sheryl Lee's younger sister in the tv movie

My contact said "[Moira] has lots of talent and plays Donna very well. She

Also, Sherylin Fenn will be doing some shooting at L/F in Van Nuys, and

Black/White Lodge and Cooper jasonhal@girtab.usc.edu (Jason Hall) 1991-11-11 10:09
First of all it is 25 years not 50 years, I don't know here anyone got 50 years from. In cooper's dream he even says he ways 25 years older and Laura says to him in the last show, "I'll see you in 25 years". Secondly, Coop does not necessarily have to stay in the Black Lodge for 25 years. Don't you think its possible Laura was simply referring to that in the way time works for her, she will not come to agent cooper in his dream for 25 years, but it has already happened for cooper. Also, remember Laura had the same dream Cooper had, but even before he did. Or mayber Cooper will return to the black lodge 25 years later, doesn't mean he has to say in there. jasonhal@usc.edu[src]

Nope, they copied part of the picture over the american subtitles and put the Dutch ones (more or less) on top of that. It's a technique they also use to hide the information like name and function of people that are being interviewed in documentaries as the position of these would overlap with the (Dutch) subtitles and put the name/job info somewhere else in the picture (like on top). - - - - - - - - - - VM: V50ZJP@HASARA11 or @vm1.sara.nl Jan Paul (JP) Barends AIX V50ZJP@diamond.sara.nl Department of Physiology Phone: (work) 020-548 2017; Fax:6613569 Free University (Amsterdam) vd Boechorststr. 7, kr. T.P. Giant and Wall Of Voodoo! stevedal@tz.wimsey.bc.ca (Steve Dallas) 1991-11-11 14:58
The T.P. Giant, Carel Struycken (sp?) some might remember from the old Wall of Voodoo video, "Mexican Radio". This was when the incredible Stan Ridgway was still in the band, and this was around 1983. We see Struycken at the end of the video as the camera angle changes to a behind the scene's shot showing the lads in the band performing with the camera quite close to them, and Struycken stands tall above them dressed as the director of the movie shouting out commands. Former Wall of Voodoo singer/musician Stan Rigdway recently came out with I believe his third solo album (after the Big Heat, and Mosquito's) called "Partyball" which has some great songs on it in the Jack Keroac of rock and roll Stan Rigdway tradition. Rigway teamed up with Ex-Police drummer Stewart Copeland to do the soundtrack to the movie "Rumble Fish", which is an album I've been looking for, for some time now. Anybody seen it around, preferably on CD? Anyway, check Struycken out next time you see the video for "Mexican Radio".[src]
Question about episode 2017 higham@waikato.ac.nz 1991-11-11 15:29
POSSIBLE SPOILERS........... Last night I watched the episode number 2017 and as usual came to work to look at the TP timeline to relive the events of importance. Today there was a major discrepancy. At the beginning of last nights episode, the first thing we see is poor old Harry Truman, sitting dejectedly getting drunk on Jack Daniels. On the timeline we have a long speech by Coop to Diane explaining the current state of affairs in Twin Peaks, only then does it describe Truman state of anxiety. So whats going on? Can anyone in the states tell me if they recall seeing the scene at the beginning of 2017 when Cooper is talking to Diane? It may be that TV3 is editing TP. This has happened here before, to Blackadder which was cut due to length. At the BBC, no advertising means that programmes are half an hour long and run for half an hour without commercials, in New Zealand it would take half an hour to run plus commercial time equals 40 minutes. TV 1 didn't want that so they saw fit to cut 10 minutes from each Blackadder, that is until the public found out and succeeded in changing the policy through a concerted campaign in which turnips were sent to TV offices around the country! I thought perhaps they may be cutting TP too, although I have no other evidence apart from this. We did have a "Last week on Twin Peaks" intro as well, and it may be that they included this and cut Coops speech. Anyone out there comment on this? Was Coopers speech to Diane on episode 2017? Is there a brief resume given at the beginning of each US episode? Tom Higham, Radiocarbon Dating Laboratory, University of waikato, Hamilton, New Zealand.[src]

From the beginning of a chapter entitled "How Does Operant Conditioning Work?" from a 1964 text called Learning Theories for Teachers: "Let each of us picture himself as a fourth grader, Dale Cooper, in a possible classroom of the year 1975. At the first bell students enter the room; at the second bell they become silent. When opening exercises have been completed, the teacher says, "Arithmetic." Dale has been conditioned at this signal to place his arithmetic cylinder on his teaching machine, find where he left off yesterday, and proceed with conditining himself to solve arithmetic problems. After 20 minutes the teacher says, "Reading," and in another 20 inutes, "Spelling." Each word is the appropriate stimulus for Dale to change cylanders on his machine. Then comes recess. At the sound of a bell with a different tone from that of the the one which brought students into the room, they go out to the playground. Here, playground equipment has been adequately mechanized and sequenced so that there is little need for a teacher or any other supervisory personnel. The teacher uses the recess period to check, repair, and lubricate the machines. The psychology which would support the emphasis on teaching machines for Dale's education has been developed by a professor at Harvard, B. F. Skinner (1904- ). Skinner has found operant conditioning highly effective in training animals, and he is confident that it promises equal success when used with children and youth..." Behind the Scenes at the TP Movie stevedal@tz.wimsey.bc.ca (Steve Dallas) 1991-11-17 01:44
A friend of mine, John Slonecker, has been doing some double-acting in the states, and reports that the movie is now finished and is being prepared to be edited as far as he knows. The majority of the film was done at night, in a part of Washington called Bellvue, or at least the parts done in Washington state. Apparently Lynch personally thanked every extra actor for the exterior scenes and was an extremely nice man, although he was apparently not directing so much on the set as instead he was usually apparently off to the side viewing everything off a monitor to see how it would look. My friend found Mr. Lynch sitting alone reading a script of some sort during a break, and asked him, on behalf of myself, any advice to offer to a film student. Apparently the advice that was passed onto my, directly from David Lynch was, "To stay in school, keep your head clean, and you'll haved me whooped." Read into that as you will...! Also, on one of the last nights of shooting, there was a closed set. And there's a possible SPOILER here, so anybody who wants to be kept in the dark, you better skip the rest of this message, because I don't want to ruin the enjoyment of surprise: Last Chance...? Apparently at the end of the movie, there is an orgy scene and Leland Palmer ends up as not only a rapist, but also a murderer. If anybody wants any other details, feel free to email me.[src]

Did anyone catch the Michael Jackson "Dangerous" special which was on several stations earlier tonight. I happened to catch the credits and one of them said something like "Dangerous teaser directed by David Lynch". I believe this refers to the cool computer graphicy type piece where Michael's head floats closer to the camera which has also been showing on MTV recently. Does anyone know anything more about this Lynch/Jackson collaboration? Well, you get two owlie points (TM) for spelling Renault correctly, as
it was thoroughly abused in months past. I believe that the big
guy's name was "Jaques". I think Pierre was the skinny brother who was
interrogated by Cooper at the bookhouse. Later killed by Leo.

Which works out to about $20 per disc -- a little more than that, since
the cost was actually between $600 and $650, as I did the math. They
really couldn't be much lower than that, domestic or imported.

Hello fellow forlorn TP'ers dharkles@Bonnie.ICS.UCI.EDU (Dan Harkless) 1991-11-18 20:42
Man, I haven't frequented this group since the Death. (Of TP, not LP.) Since we seem to be reduced to commenting on spotting TP actors in other films and shows, I thought I'd add one. A couple weeks ago on the TBS late night movie or somesuch, there was some awful old late-seventies (?) horror movie, with a pseudo-Christian evil woman played by the actress who played Laura's mother (forgot her name). Her hapless follower was played by Carel Struycken, the Giant. Only caught a few minutes of it - it looked pretty awful. Anyone seen this movie as well? COOP alive & mailing T-Shirts larryy@Apple.COM (Larry Yaeger) 1991-11-20 02:41
Well, COOP (Citizens Opposing the Offing of Peaks) is apparently still alive and finally making good on T-Shirt orders. My check to them was dated May 21, and was cashed May 29 (1991). I received my shirt yesterday, Nov 19. Amazing... the wheels grind slowly, but they do grind. A half-page note accompanied the shirt with the following verbiage: Dear COOP member: As you well know, this tee is VERY, VERY _late_. Unfortunately, you were one of a small number of COOPers whose tee order got caught in the midst of some unfortunate circumstances. Those complications in the fulfillment process have been solved---and we FINALLY got your tee to you. We are sorry, and hope you can forgive our mistake. Also, as you know, we have become active again, this time in support of the new David Lynch movie, TWIN PEAKS: FIRE, WALK WITH ME. Mike just returned from the set in Los Angeles, and reports that production has wrapped! David told him that he wants the COOP membership involved in some special projects designed to support the release of the film as well as some other worthy programs. We are finally organized, and on the move. You will hear from us soon; we have some interesting developments on the horizon to tell you about. Hopefully, our extremely tardy fulfillment of your order will not alienate you from our ranks---we need your help now, more than ever. Twin Peaks Video Release in UK & FWWM Movie Sneak Preview neilp@cs.hw.ac.uk (Neil Postlethwaite) 1991-11-21 08:44
An article in the (UK) Guardian Newspaper (Thursday 21/11/91). Titled : A feast of Peaks viewing - with cherry pie. (By Phillipa Bloom) The publicity machine behind the forthcoming release of David Lynch's entire Twin Peaks series on video has devised a promotional campaign of truly Lynchian wierdness. VIP guests to a specially-arranged Twin Peaks party (Gothic mansion venue, simultaneous screenings of a 35 episodes, doughnut buffet, Peaks dress optional) have already been subjected to postal deliveries of logs, cryptic clues, cherry pie and coffee. Lesser Peakies, meanwhile, can look forward to a staggering 29-hours, non-stop public screening of the whole of the cult series at London's Prince Charles cinema in February, for which the audience will be invited to dress as their favourite Twin Peaks character. An exclusive 50-minute preview clip of Lynch's film version of his TV series - Fire Walk With Me - will be screened at the same time. For stay-at-home fans 10 Twin Peaks videos (#12.99; pounds !! each) will eventually be available. The first four 135-minute tapes are released this week with the remaining six coming out in the spring. Damn fine idea. [end of article]. 135 minute tapes which would mean 3 episodes a tape for 12.99 which is reasonable. Anybody going to the screening as Laura (wrapped in plastic) ??? I wonder where they got the idea for the publicity campaign ?? I would guess we have to thank the various chapters of C.O.O.P. for that !!! In response to a post requesting information on Twin Peaks on video:
World Vision Video has released the first seven episodes on videotape,
in a boxed set. It retails for somewhere around $90.00. What absolutely
ROTS about this set, though, is that it starts off with episode 001, and
does NOT include the pilot episode. What I have not been able to determine
is if the pilot episode is indeed available on tape as well. I am also
unsure if the rest of the series will be released. Betcha Columbia House
Video puts Peaks in their subscription program.

A couple of days ago I walked into a local video specialty
store and found (and then purchased) a new TP boxed set.
The big news is it contains 29 episodes, that's every one
except for the original pilot. Picture and sound quality
are very good (I've only had time to watch the first 7, but
tonight we're starting the second season pilot).
The price was $89.95, which is $10 less than the store sells
the original boxed set for.

PS. my friend went the next day and bought the only other copy
available in Utah!

This was a good day! After a tip and a phone call to the local mall
I jumped in my car and away I went. I soon found myself standing at
the neon lit entrance of the new "Suncoast Motion Picture Company"
(this retail store sell nothing but video tapes and laserdiscs). I
walked up to the counter and asked the very attractive young lady
stand there if she was the one I had spoken to on the phone, she
smiled assured me that she was reached beneath the counter and came up
with a 6 pack of video tapes, 6 tapes totaling 29 hours on nonstop
Twin Peaks!
At last! "Worldvision" has done it! They are all here (with the
exception of the pilot which I have in the 'euro' form)! COOL! No
more being at the mercy of TV programers, no more cursing myself for
not having recorderd every episode! It's party time! :-)
While I do find the video quality somewhat lacking (the tapes are
recorded in EP, this is how they got 29 hrs on 6 tapes) the fact that
the full 29 hours is here more then makes up for the slight lack of
quality. To be perfectly honest the tapes look as good as anything I
have recorded off of my TV (I fear my Laserdisc player has spoiled
me). The cost? Something like $3.11 per hour, this 6 pack was $89.98.
Well it's Friday night the party is set, my guests are beginning to
arrive and the marathon is about to begin! I wish you all could be
here, the pie and coffee smells damned fine!!!

Like many of you, I did not have much luck finding the new boxed set
of all 29 TP episodes in many video stores. Based on postings here,
I finally succeeded when I checked at my local outlet of the Suncoast
Motion Picture Company national chain.
To date, all of the successful purchases that I've heard of
were made at other Suncoast outlets across the country. None of the
big chains (Tower, Wherehouse, Blockbuster, etc.) that I checked with
even knew about the Collectors Edition. If you have found it
at other stores, perhaps you could post a short note saying where.
So beware of people trying to sell you the original boxed set
that only has the seven first season episodes (one per tape in SP mode)
and sells for $99. Ask for the "Collectors Edition" with
all 29 episodes on *six* tapes (EP mode) and sells for $89.
Ordering information:
Title: Twin Peaks "Special Collectors Edition"
Distributor: Worldvision Home Video
Catalog numbers: 5070 (for the whole set of 6 tapes)
tapes are also supposed to be available individually:
5059 (Episodes 1-5)
5060 (Episodes 6-9, ep. 8 is 2-hour 2nd season premiere)
5061 (Episodes 10-14)
5062 (Episodes 15-19)
5063 (Episodes 20-24)
5064 (Episodes 25-29)
Each is approximately 4 hours long (5 episodes x 48 minutes). See the
short-form episode guide for details on episodes (I will post this again
or e-mail me for it). Note that the two-hour finale shown on TV
(sometimes referred to as 2021 on the net) is broken into the final
two episodes (28 and 29) on this set.
Note also that there are no episode recaps ("previously on Twin Peaks")
or previews ("next on Twin Peaks") and of course, none of the Log Lady
intros being shown on Bravo (Lynch produced these specifically for
Bravo).
Further note that this set does NOT include the 2-hour pilot. As
regular readers of this newsgroup are well aware, the only version
of the pilot available commercially is the extended "European"
version with an alternate ending. This is likely to remain the
case since Warner Home Video owns the rights to that. (If you're
seeking the broadcast version of the pilot, you'll have to enquire
about getting a copy from someone on the net or keep your eye out
for the Bravo rebroadcast of the entire series sometime in '94.
Or alternatively, enquire about how/when to truncate the "European"
pilot version before the alternate ending.)
A note on video/audio quality of this set: although the tapes are
recorded in the EP (slow) mode, the quality is quite good--certainly
better than I have been able to make myself from the Bravo broadcasts.
In the episodes I've checked so far, there do not appear to be any
of the audio dropouts/surround sound glitches some people have
experienced with the broadcasts. Serious videophiles may want to
hold off for the eventual release of the next 3 laseridsc boxed
sets of the 2nd season episodes (Vol. 2 was just announced for
mid-December release--see my separate posting on that), but for
the reasonable price of this Collectors Edition, it's worth having
all the episodes now (IMHO).
Feel free to email me if you have other specific questions about the
boxed set.

I suppose this is based on an earlier posting that said that when you take
an audio recording of "Laura Palmer" and put into some computer software,
electronically tweeze it, turn it around and play it back you get:
"I'm not Bob". I resisted responding to that post, but can resist no more.
How in Hell can "Laura Palmer" backwards be "I'm not Bob"?
- They don't have the same number of syllables.
- Where, for example, do the "B" sounds in "Bob" come from?
Let's try something:
"I'm not Bob", phonetically (using my own notation) is: "iym naht bahb";
Reversed you get: "bahb tahn my".
"Laura Palmer", phonetically is: "lawruh pahmuhr";
Reversed: "ruhmap uhrwall".
Do we see ANY similarity between these two?: "bahb tahn my"
"ruhmap uhrwall"
I don't.

Unfortunately, it ain't. The kind of stuff you get when you play sounds backwards is near impossible (by me, anyway) to predict. If it was just the phonemes in reversed order, it would sound like another language, not the demonic gibberish that you hear in these episodes, and in psychedelic music, and anywhere else you might have happened across backwards speech. The outcome doesn't necessarily follow the rules of syllables and etc. I haven't heard these sounds backwards, but I intend to. If these people say that "I'm not Bob" backwards is "Laura Palmer," I will believe them, it seems quite plausible and just the sort of thing that would surface out of this strange montage we call a show. As far as The Clothestime commercial stands... It's either one of two
things, neither of which can be too good:
1. Angelo Badalamenti has gotten to the point where he's ripping off his
OWN music schtick..
2. Somebody has shamelessly copied his musical stylings, specifically
from "Rockin' Back Inside My Heart."
Yep, looks like the 90's to me.

I've been watching the video of episodes 1-3, and the thing that's struck me the most is how often there's a reference to something which is only explained several episodes later: This occurred to me before when watching the trailer - I'd never realised that the affair between Bobby and Shelly was set up in the *first*scene*, for example. The things that surprised me, watching the early episodes again, were the following: 1) How early on BOB comes onto the scene - I'd sort of felt that nobody actually saw him until about episode 5 or 6; (or maybe I'm just dumb - I must confess it wasn't until about episode 4 or so that I really started to get hooked) 2) This is something I hadn't noticed before, and what's more that I can't remember being discussed in a.tv.tp: The Bookhouse boys' secret salute. This consists of running the index finger down the right side of the face from brow-line to jaw. Now that I've noticed it, the BB's seem to do it all the time: but it had never registered before. David Lynch Interview Part II stevedal@tz.wimsey.bc.ca (Steve Dallas) 1991-12-20 05:25
By popular demand, a lot of people sent me some email regarding their beliefs that the David Lynch Interviethat was done with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) had been cut-off. In fact, I didn't get all of it typed in because I ran out of room on the message, and decided to leave it at that. There still is more to it, and the continuation of the interview from where I left off i to follow. I would just like to interject another posting of my David Lynch Information Request: I am a film student currently attending the University of British Columbia, and will be writing a major term paper on the work, the life and generally the all around genius of David LyTo compile such a paper I am in need of as much information as I can dig up from magazines, and videotaped television appearances--some of which I've been lucky to get my hands on, and I've been even luckier to get a chance to speak with actors who have worked with Lynch. I might already have something you have, but if you have any newsclippings from magazines or newspapers, or perhaps any copies of videotaped television appearanes that Mr. Lynch has made, I would be very appreciative if you could email me regarding them. As I come across these items, as I pool them together, I will post them because I presume it is subject matter that all of you, even those who might not have anything of use to me would be interested to read. So, if you can help, please email me at: stevedal@tz.wimsey.bc.ca Seasons Greetngs. I hope the second smaller portion of the interview is of use or of enjoyment to you... Q:For Whom? LYNCH: I'd rather not say, because that would give them free publicity. But I really enjoy doing it, especially when I'm given the freedom to do what I want. They're like little bitty mood movies. Q:What made you choose Julie Cruise for you Twin Peaks soundtrack? LYNCH: She was someone Angelo Badalamenti and I started working with back in the Blue Velvet days. We made an album with Julie, and while we were making a song called "The Nightengale", I pictured dancing in the road-house in Twin Peaks. And the song "Falling" that Julie sings seemed like the perfect kind of music to start the feel of Twin Peaks. And so it worked its way in. Q: Why did you make a video from one of Chris Isaak's tunes in Wild at Heart? LYNCH: I found out about Chris Isaak during Blue Velvet as well, and I fell in love with his music. I heard his song "Wicked Game", and it worked its way into Wild at Heart. Then the studio asked ifI would do a music video for the music and the film, and I did. I think it has a beautiful feel, primarily thanks to his fantastic music. Q: What do you think of music video's in general? LYNCH: If the music conjures up certain images and you're able to understand them, I think it can be a beautiful marriage between picture and sound. That's what I love about film; in the marriage of picture and sound, the whole becomes greater than the sum of the parts. It doesn't happen all the time in music video's, but it could. THE END.[src]

Actually, Lynch directed a series of Obsession ads -- all of which
feature "sensual" quotations by famous authors (I have also seen quotes
from the works of D.H. Laurence and Gustave Flaubert used in the ads). I
believe it is Lara Flynn Boyle in the commercial, along with James
Marshall -- two familiar TP faces. They were the only known actors used
in the commercials, to my knowledge, and I believe they were the two in
the Fitzgerald quote.
BTW, the Obsession commercials feature AUTHENTIC Badalamenti music!

Ah -- the problem is that you're working from how they're >spelled<, not how the words are actually spoken. Speakers of English often swallow unaccented end syllables of words. Thus, "Laura Palmer" often sounds more like "lawr' pahlmuh". Run this backward, and you have "umlahp 'rawl". Now, especially running backward, consonants are at best indistinct -- we quite often guess them from context. The "p" at the beginning (or reversed end) is recognisable as a hard consonant -- which might well be a "t". Soft consonants can be a total guess, sounding what you want them to sound like. If this weren't true, a lot of record-burning televangelist would have a much harder time telling us that we hear backward Satanism in rock songs. Case for further study: The instance where many heard John Lennon's muttered "cranberry sauce" as "I buried Paul". Take all these into account. and it's easy to hear how "umlahp 'rawl" might be heard as "umnaht 'bahb". Twin Peaks ending mwinston@lust.reed.edu (Michael J. Winston) 1991-12-22 03:13
First, let me say that I'm one of those people who used to think computers were useless to me. Then, I came across ALT.TV.TWIN-PEAKS, and, boy, have I changed my mind. Finally, I know there are Lynch fans out there. I find that they are few and far between. Anyway, since this is my first post, I thought I'd give you all my humble opinion on the show's ending. I liked it. It fits right in with the dark, underlying sense of evil I picked up throughout the show. Besides, who said that the good guys ALWAYS have to win? Despite Cooper's great detective skills and the help he got from his friends (both known and unknown), it always seemed obvious to me that he would be no match for Bob and the Lodge when it came time to confront them. Yours, happy at last, Michael J. Winston[src]

Yesterday I bought a maxi CD with a disco version of "Falling" --
not bad at all!

It's a bit like Suzanne Vega & DNA...
My Question: What Twin Peaks related records do you know?

The People Under the Stairs sweiger@sequent.com (Mark Sweiger) 1991-12-23 10:38
I just went to see Wes Craven's "The People Under the Stairs" last night. Much to my surprise, good old Ed (of Gas Farm fame) and Nadine (minus eye patch and drapery runners), starred in the film. If you could stomach "Eraserhead", you should be able to watch this one. Good plot and you get to see Ed in a full black leather "slaying suit" that sort of a Metallica version of Spiderman's tights and headress. Nadine is spooky as ever and there are many elements of her role in this movie that are similar to "Twin Peaks". The child actor that has the protagonist's lead role does a wonderful job; sort of a black Macaulay Culkin, if there can be such a thing. Go see it, it's worth the $1.50. -- Mark Sweiger Sequent Computer Systems Database Software Engineer 15450 SW Koll Parkway Office: (503)578-4329 Beaverton, Oregon 97006-6063 FAX: (503)578-7569 sweiger@sequent.com[src]

Ironically, Entertainment Weekly called Wendy Robie (Nadine) a "female impersonator" in the initial review of the movie. Soon after, EW had Wendy as one of the people they interview in their "Close Up" section. A very nice "apology" if I do say so myself.[src]
