^Twin Peaks^ Scripts - Need Info v075q5fr@ubvmsb.cc.buffalo.edu (Scott J Gorcey) 1992-02-29 16:24
Does anyone have/know where I can get my hands on ^Twin Peaks^
scripts? I have one, an earlier draft of the pilot (titled
"Northwest Passage" where Harry is Dan and Josie is Giovanna)
but that's all.
In particular, I am looking for the scripts from episode 002
(dream sequence), the second season premiere and the episode
where Maddie is murdered (2007, I think).
If anyone has one or all of these and would like to trade, I
will trade the early-draft of the pilot. Or I have several
Star Trek scripts, both movies and TNG ("Yesterday's Enterprise,"
"Sarek," "Best of Both Worlds I" and four or five others; second
and third movies and the sixth.). I also have a couple of Beauty
and the Beast scripts.
Or whatever you would like to trade for. (Unfortunately, as my
computer is not IBM-compatible, this trade will have to go through
snail-mail, but I am willing to cover all postage as well as
whatever compensation you think fair).
Thanks in advance,

The Silence of the Pine Weasels :-) joe@zitt (Joe Zitt) 1992-03-01 22:43
This may already have been chewed over but... In watching <The Silence of the Lambs> on cable this evening, I spotted 2 interesting TP correlations/coincidences: The opening footage had vague similarities. The hazy woods through which Clarise was running looked a bit like the area with the Twin Peaks sign. Also, the two seemed to have similar typefaces in their titles. The bad guy, "Buffalo Bill", had two strong resemblances to Killer BOB in his first appearance. He wore the same kind of shirt, in a similar color, as I remember BOB wearing, and had a similar annoying mincing manner that BOB did in the Euro(per)version. Probably sheer coincidence... but these connections may be worth tracking. "Twin Peaks" film to premiere at Cannes jgp@rutabaga.Rational.COM (Jim Pellmann) 1992-03-02 10:19
'Peaks' Film to Premiere at Cannes
from the syndicated "Hollywood Freeway" column by Frank Swertlow
(in the March 2 San Francisco Chronicle)
The big-screen edition of "Twin Peaks" will make its debut at May's Cannes Film
Festival. That was the word floating around New Line Cinema's 25th anniversary
party the other night at the Museum of Flying. Given the raves that the TV
series got in France, the film should get a good sendoff before it shows up in
the United States, where it will be distributed by New Line, the independent
film operation that has been doing big box office with the Ninja Turtle movies
and others.
The David Lynch "Peaks" film, which will star the TV show's original cast, is a
prequel and will deal with the mysterious Laura Palmer, who was murdered in the
series. David Bowie is one of the co-stars of the feature that has a $10
million budget. "A lot of it will deal with Laura Palmer and how she got to be
the way she was," said one insider.

FWWM: The Budget v075q5fr@ubvmsb.cc.buffalo.edu (Scott J Gorcey) 1992-03-02 19:54
At a cost of $10 million, this movie is almost garunteed to
turn a handsome profit -- even domestically (U.S.) where
no one likes Peaks anymore, there's a good shot at breaking
even, to say nothing of the revenues that will be brought in
through the Italian, Japanese, German, British, Austrailian,
Scandanavian and French runs, where Peaks is far more
popular than here.
The point: at $10 million a pop, Lynch could shoot out a peaks
movie every couple of years and use the revenues to finance
just about any other project he wanted to do --
Twin Peaks - The Feature Film Series would be an almost
garunteed cash cow!!

White and Black Lodges glandon@nmt.edu (Gregory Landon) 1992-03-03 13:31
Hello, I am new to the NET and have only been reading this group for
the last couple of weeks, and this is my first post, so any ideas presented
here are my own, and I hope they haven't been said before. I live in
Seattle, and Snoqualmie and North Bend are only about 45 minutes away from
my house, so I go there as often as possible. Believe me, the cherry pie
at the Mar-T Cafe (RR Diner, of course), is incredible. And I don't know
what kind of coffee they use, but it is sincerely the best I have ever
tasted. Anyway, with all that crap out of the way, here's what I have to
say.
Every 25 years (I am not sure where this came from, other than when
Laura said "I'll see you again in 25 years," to Cooper in the Waiting Room),
the planets align and allow both mortals to enter the Waiting Room, AND the
spirits from the Lodges to enter our world.
The White Lodge: The Giant, like BOB, must have a vehicle to travel
about in our world. I think the spirits from the White Lodge choose who they
want their vehicle to be, and make a connection with them. Because the
spirits from the White Lodge don't need to do anything physical in our world,
they don't possess, merely connect. I believe the Log Lady's husband was the
one chosen by The Giant during the last alignment. When he was killed in the
forest fire, his spirit went to the White Lodge (he now speaks to his wife
through the log he gave to her as a wedding gift). The Giant was attracted
to the old waiter through some love he felt for someone, and a connection was
made. I believe Major Briggs was taken somewhere for an "interview," for
lack of a better word, during his disappearance from the fishing trip, and I
think he was chosen as the next vehicle for The Giant.
The Black Lodge: As long as the spirits in the Black Lodge don't have
a vehicle in our world, they cannot do anything physical here. After Leland
is killed, there is no more physical activity by BOB. BOB feeds on fear, and
he can still come out of the Black Lodge for feeding only, and there must be
a source of fear to attract him. His purpose for having a vehicle, is to be
able to create fear on his own, not have to wait for it to randomly happen.
During the alignments, the spirits can come out and search for a new vehicle,
and during the last alignment (25 years ago, Leland would be in his early to
mid teens, still considered a boy), BOB used the innocence of youth to eneter
his new vehicle.
The Finale: I don't think the oil was required to enter the Waiting
Room, after all, Windham Earle did it using only Annies' fear, it was just
a clue. When Cooper entered the Waiting Room, he was going solely on his
love for Annie. Through all the things that happened, he had only love in
his heart, and was on his way to the White Lodge. Things turned bad when he
saw Windham get killed by BOB, and Cooper didn't feel sorry or compassionate
for him. That slight imperfection of his love, not the agreement he made
with Windham (for that was out of love for Annie), sent him to the Black
Lodge where he faced his shadow self, and ran. Because he didn't face his
shadow self with perfect courage, his soul could've been destroyed, but I
believe BOB, who wanted Cooper all along, chose to use this weakness as his
way to enter Cooper, and use him as his new vehicle.
I think a good followup would be for Cooper to retire from the FBI and
buy his ranch in Twin Peaks and work for Harry at the police station. The
murders start up again, and as Cooper investigates them, he finds out he is
the killer. He then finds a way to get back into the Black Lodge, and
battles BOB for his soul. He either loses and his soul is utterly destroyed,
or he wins and lives on as a normal Cooper.
Well, that is all I have to say on this subject for now, but I have lots
of other ideas for the rest of the show. If you want to comment on my ideas
or ask me any questions, either post them or e-mail them to me.

We did indeed resolve the matter of whose voice came out of Sarah's
mouth via the closed-caption copy as being WE.
I don't have a copy of my rantings on the lodges back when it was
new, but to summarize my thoughts, time in the black lodge is
running backwards. That's how its inhabitants could know what the
future holds in 'normal time'. In order to communicate with someone
from normal time, they must speak backwards in order for it to come
out forwards.
Remember too, that the way the 'backwards speak' was done was by having
the actors listen to a tape played backwards of themselves saying their
lines, then saying their lines backwards to the best of their abilities,
then creating the finished product by playing the recording backwards.

Re:Questions about final episode peter_joachim@tron.gun.de (Peter Joachim) 1992-03-03 15:40
Here are my answers to these questions after carefully rewatching the
final epsiode:
-> From: peter_joachim@tron.gun.de (Peter Joachim)
->
Subject: Questions about final episode
-> Message-ID: <1A9B37D9PJ@tron.gun.de>
-> Who talked to Briggs via Sarah Palmer? Was it Earle, Bob or the Little Man?
I think it was the LMFAP. We hear Sarah tell Briggs (her voice distorted): "I'm
in the Black Lodge with Dale Cooper!". Then there's a cut to the Other Side with a
voiceover of the LMFAP: "I'm waiting for you!".
So his message to Briggs is "I'm in the Black Lodge with Dale Cooper! I'm waiting for
you!". Sounds like a challenge to me!
We know that Briggs is at least close to reaching the White Lodge which is
impossible without passing through the Black Lodge. On the other hand there's
plenty of evidence suggesting that the LMFAP is an evil spirit inhabiting the Black
Lodge. Probably the two have met in the past with Briggs defeating the LMFAP. So
the LMFAP by issuing the challenge the LMFAP (or the Black Lodge) is seeking
revenge.
-> Is there some significance about the strange (doubly backwards) speaking.
-> Except for Cooper everybody on the Other Side (including Earle & Annie) speaks
-> that way. Does this imply that Earle too is a supernatural being?
I think Window Earle was behind many of the apparitions ("the friends") Coop
encounters. When Laura screams and seems to attack Coop (in a scene with strobe
effect) Earle's face is superimposed on Laura's during one brief flash (I verified
that with the VCR).
So by the time Earle confronts Coop openly he has already gained some influence on
the powers of the Black Lodge thus becoming a part of the Other Side.

The Flash zapped into Coop (2001) peter_joachim@tron.gun.de (Peter Joachim) 1992-03-03 15:40
Hi! Before the Giant leaves Cooper in 2001 he tells him that he forgot something. Then he zaps some sort of flash or ball-lightning into Cooper. Was that the ring he took away from him earlier? I may be wrong, but I thought the ring was returned to Coop when he remembered his dream (the gathering in the Roadhouse). Besides, why does the Giant take the ring anyway? Is it only to convince Coop that he isn't suffering from a mere delusion by giving some physical evidence of his visit? Or does the ring have some other significance? bye Peter Joachim (Z-Netz:PETER_JOACHIM@TRON.ZER; Internet:goedel@tron.gun.de) - The Blaine AI: Another fine product of NORTH CENTRAL POSITRONICS LTD.! -- THE ANSWER V2.01[src]

Actually, I was just heading home to watch the last episode when
I stopped by the computer center to catch up on the posts for the
week. I'll have to check it out. BTW, a few weeks back, in the
original "Coffee" post, the author theorized that the door to
the White Lodge was in the coffee. The more and more I think
about it, this seems to be the case. Now, in explaining, I should
say that I'll be using as part of the argument one of the
SPOILERS from the FWWM screenplay tidbits someone else posted
back in January. Anyone who wants out now...
Okay, campers. Let's review. Coop is seated in the black chair
in the waiting room. The little man is the only other one in the
room at the time, right? Anyhow, the waiter eventually shows
up, says "Hallelujah" to the Little Man, who says Hallelujah
back. He then gets up and offers Coop the coffee. before Coop
picks up the coffee, perhaps as a helpful hint, he becomes the
Giant and then disappears. At this point, let's take into account
the quote, "The little man is the arm" from the FWWM teasers
in January. Which arm? Why, BOB's of course. (Glastonberry Grove
in the last one-hour episode.) By my reasoning, this means that
the Little Man is in fact, BOB, explaining his presence at Josie's
death, the Giant/midget Black/White Lodge dichotomy, and, in my
opinion, the dumbest reason Cooper gave for Leland being the
murderer-the Little man dancing (Well, it seemed dumb at the time)
Coop picks up the coffee, but will not drink it, as the
Little Man/BOB changes the nature of the fluid. IMHO, this means
that evil is constantly changing the nature of good, but if
you get right down to it, the core of what makes good _good_
is immutable (following me?) In not drinking the coffee, the thing
Coop finds most immutable in his life (Remember him saying
something to the effect of 'Diane, up until today, I never thought
I'd have a truly bad cup of coffee' when he had the fish-percolated
cup o' Joe?), Coop turns down the offer of the White Lodge and
is left to enter the Black Lodge, face his shadow-self, fall to
fear, and become BOB's new host. Also going in this theory's
favor is the statement the Little Man/BOB makes while changing
the coffee-"Wow, BOB, Wow." Bob _is_ definitely behind the
funky coffee. In the end, we see Laura's face in the coffee, free
at last. Where she's from the birds sing a pretty song, and there's
always music in the air. But wait. Didn't the little man also
say he was from the same place? Chew on this-Lucifer was in heaven
before he got his bum kicked out. Maybe the whole White Lodge/
Black Lodge deal can fit into traditional Judeo-Christian theology.
I mean, MIKE as the archangel has already been discussed on this
newsgroup. This might be another step in that direction. To end
on a happy note, when Laura says, "I'll see you again in 25 years"
maybe she means that although Coop may die at the hands of BOB
in the real world (Which was hinted at in the FWWM trailer post
yesterday) he'll make it to heaven ( the White Lodge) in 25 years.
Note that the real Laura was not seen after she vanished until
the parting coffee shot, and her doppleganger, which the BL could
have conjured up, was the one doing all the screaming.
Anyhow, it's just a thought...

I understand this to mean that he separated himself from evil by containing it in his arm and removing it. I'm not in Europe, but from what I hear about the plot of
^TP:FWWM^, I'd give that one a big "NO." Just as it is
nearly impossible to follow the complicated surface plotting
in the series if watched sporadically or out of order, and
just impossible to catch the symbolism at work, it probably
won't be in the best interests of anyone not familiar with
Twin Peaks the series to slap down hard earned cash for

What does it all mean? 01sybok@ac.dal.ca 1992-03-04 05:27
I think, after reading a few postings on the thread of the black/white Lodges that I'm going to have to post an idea I came up with on my own. The whole b/w Lodge thing is not supposed to make sense! This is kind of a shocking think to say, but I REALLY suspect that Lynch threw it in to keep us talking about Twin Peaks. Think about it. We have been discussing the possible endings of the show now for almost a year after the show ended. We *still* have no concrete answers. No one knows for sure. The only thing we've been able to do is keep up intrest withinh our own community. I think that's quite an achievement, mind you, but we really don't know anything about the lodges still, do we? Just an idea. Don't stop trying to figure it out. Twin Peaks/Snoqualmie FAQ's? dmp@fig.citib.com (Donna M. Paino) 1992-03-04 06:24
Lots of people from the Snoqualmie area have posted (in bits and pieces) some
of the sites to visit on a Twin Peaks pilgrammage. But no one's put it
all in one place, in one posting. Is anyone out there up to the challenge?
I'm thinking about visiting the area in the spring or summer, and would want
to see as much as I could. Some of the places that come to mind at
9:00 am on a workday:
- the Double-R diner
- the Great Northern
- the Falls
- the Packard mill
- the Park with the Gazebo (where Dr. Jacoby was assaulted)
- the title scene, where the "Welcome to Twin Peaks" sign stood
- Big Ed's Gas Farm
- the Log Lady's house
- the location of the train cars where Laura was attacked
- the Sheriff's Department
and on and on. The area looks so breathtaking on TV, this city person
would probably just stand there and suck it all in.
Brief directions to each place would be helpful, too, as well as hotels in
the area (can you actually stay in the Great Northern?).
Thanks in advance for ANY info!

Snoqualmie and area tour. glandon@nmt.edu (Gregory Landon) 1992-03-04 12:54
Hi, this is Greg Landon, the one that posted the big White and Black
Lodge analysis a couple of days ago. As I said, I am from Seattle, and
like to go to Snoqualmie and North Bend as often as I can. I will be
moving back to Seattle around the middle of May, and would be happy to lead
tours up to the Twin Peaks area for anyone who is interested. I can even
come pick you up at the airport since it is only about three miles from my
house. If you are interested in a personal tour, email me or call me on the
phone, and we can probably work something out.
For those of you who aren't interested, here is a list of the locations
I know about and the best directions I have to get there.
First off, get on I-90 heading east out of Seattle. Follow the signs
to North Bend(Exit 31 I think). Follow the road you end up on into town, and
you will eventually see the Mar-T Cafe(RR-diner). Stop in and grab a piece of
pie and a cup of joe. You may not recognize the interior, because it was only
used in the pilot. Back on the road you were on before, there is a flower and
gift shop on the other side of the stop light and they have all kinds of Twin
Peaks souvineers. The large hill you see is Mt. Si(sigh), seen in the show.
That is pretty much all there is in North Bend, so get back on the same road
heading away from the freeway, and continue on around a sharp corner which
will put you on HWY 203. Follow this for a few miles, and eventually you will
enter Snoqualmie. You will see Big Edd's Family Dining on the right, not the
same building, and not a gas station, but no doubt where the name came from
(not sure how the food is). Twin Peaks High School is also known as Mt. Si
H.S., but unfortunately, I don't have directions to get there. The town isn't
that big, so you will more than likely stumble upon it if you look just a
little. The next thing in Snoqualmie is the Great Northern(Salish Lodge), and
the falls. You can stay at the Salish Lodge, but it will run you $165.00 a
night, and the inside is not like the show. Spend a few moments in awe of
the power of the falls, and if you like, there is a trail going down to a
viewpoint at the bottom, that viewpoint is quite a ways away, and you may want
to climb down and walk all the way up to the pool at the bottom of the falls.

Here's my best recollection how to find them (you'll need a Snoqualmie street map, available anywhere in the area). Corrections/additions welcome! RR diner: the Mar-T Diner on the corner of 1st (=North Bend Way) and North Bend Blvd., North Bend. Twin Peaks Sheriff Office: Weyerhauser Mill Office in Snoqualmie: Turn north off 202 onto Meadowbrook Way, which turns into Reinig Road after crossing the river. Just past the RR trestle turn left at 396, then take first left. The trestle before 396 is where Ronette Pulaski was found wandering. Packard Mill: Weyerhauser Mill above. Twin Peaks High School: Mt. Si High School, 1/4 mile north of 202 on Meadowbrook Way. Opening sequence with "Welcome to TP" sign: stay on Reinig Road after intersection with 396. Twin Peaks (Mt. Si) straight ahead. Continue about 1 mile to a turnout on the right where the road meets the river again. You'll know this is the spot by the pattern of cottonwoods and telephone poles against Mt. Si. Big Tree (in opening sequence first season): Village Green Park, center of Snoqualmie on Snoqualmie-North Bend Road. Railroad Cars (where Laura was found): just north of Village Green park on west side of the road. North of the fenced-in cars, follow the first spur of tracks to the NW past the transformers and into the woods. Continue over a wooden bridge/footpath about 1/4 mile to a pair of cars to the right, slightly elevated, on a separate track about 15 feet from the main track. An outhouse is next to them. There have been rumors that these cars were moved sometime in the fall, however. Great Northern/TP Falls: Salish Inn/Snoqualmie Falls in Snoqualmie on Fall City-Snoqualmie Road. Roadhouse: Colonial Inn at intersection of Highway 202 and Preston-Fall City Road in Fall City. Much better food than the Mar-T. Big Ed's Gas Station: Windstreamers kite shop in Preston on Preston-Fall City Road at 86 Place near Highway 90. The only interior I know (haven't been here yet, though): Great Northern: Kiana Lodge in Poulsbo, Washington. Snoqualmie/North Bend are about 30 minutes east of Seattle on U.S. 90. The Mar-T sells cherry pies by the truckload, and has lotsa memorabilia from the series on the walls (incl. photos of Lynch and some of the actors as they partook of the so-so dining there). The Alpine Blossom Gift Shop a couple blocks from the Mar-T sells TP souvenirs, including the TP Gazette, logs, t-shirts, coffee mugs. They also sell crude freehand maps of the exterior shots, but I still couldn't find them without a street map. Motels ------- There are five motels in the area, all in North Bend, a campground in Fall City, and a trailer park with tent sites in North Bend. The motels are often full by early afternoon on weekends, so make reservations early. The motels are: Mt. The ring does have some significance. If you read the book about Coop (My Life, My Tapes) it tells in there that the ring was his mothers (I think). She gave it to him (I cant remember exactly when) but it disappears one night when he has a dream about his mother, and returns later when he has another dream. You should read the book, it is definately worth it. Some wierd stuff and some funny stuff but I wont go into it here incase it spoils it for anyone. Donald Edwards[src]

I also verified this with my VCR, and got the impression that Earle
was *watching* the encounter between Coop and doppel-Laura. His face
was a bit off to the left side, apparently watching with a demented
grin on his face. It was not, to the best of my recollection,
superimposed on doppel-Laura's face.

My uncle works with the volunteer train enthusiasts who own the rail yard

"You forgot something" refers to Coop forgetting what Dream-Laura
whispered in his ear - i.e., the name of the killer - in 1002.

Yes, it has other significances, but in this instance, yeah, the
Giant took the ring to prove to Coop that it wasn't a dream (Coop
checks his hand a little while later and is shocked that the
ring really is gone.)

It does, taken that way. But the whole "Who talked through Sarah's
mouth?" thing was put to rest a while back by someone with both
script (indicating it was the voice of Windom Earle) and closed
caption, which indicated it was Earle's voice as well.
If "One in the same" applies to everything in the Black Lodge and
Earle is partly assimilated, as you suggest later in your original
post (thus having gained certain Black Lodge abilities), it might
be Earle speaking the first part of the challenge to Briggs: "I'm
in the Black Lodge with Agent Cooper" and the LMFAP who finishes
it in another voice over "I'm waiting for you."
I think it's more plausible as a challenge from Earle to Briggs,
since the two are old enemies from Project Bluebook, which was the
first research into the Lodge's powers.
This sounds like the first really plausible explanation, to me
anyway, of why Sarah was speaking in tongues and why to Briggs.
(Briggs should be a huge part of the movie).

Doppel-Laura v075q5fr@ubvmsc.cc.buffalo.edu (Scott J Gorcey) 1992-03-05 11:48
Just a stupid point and maybe this has been discussed and
I missed it, but...
A lot of articles refer to the Laura we see in the final
episode in the Waiting Room as "Doppel-Laura" and it just
occured to me -- how do we konw that isn't the ^real^ Laura
Palmer and the Doppel is the one who died? Just as the
^real^ Coop is trapped in the Lodge and his Doppel is
free?... (Same would go for Maddy and Leland (maybe even
for the Room Service Waiter and Josie as well))...
Just a thought.

Audrey ftp & ^Peaks^ film festival question csbgc@uoft02.utoledo.edu 1992-03-05 18:45
Hello All! I've been reading all about FWWM and I'm waiting for the release date just like everyone else. Two questions, 1.) Is the credits for the series at Audrey.ftp available in a format "friendly" to the Mac? I've tried to download and the files are all messed up, even in a binary transfer. ASCII doesn't work and I think the files have a ".Z" at the end of each name [Credits2004.Z] HELP! Question two is more of an open statement. There is a small wooded area by my campus (The University of Toledo) Late at night in the fall when the trees are full of leaves and blow in the breeze it has a "feel" of the woods in ^TP^ and I thought it would be really cool to have a ^TP^ film festival where for a week the entire series is played, maybe two episodes a night?.....Anyway has anyone done anything like this? Cheers! Don Kasprzak[src]

Major Briggs, Windom Earle, Bluebook, The Lodges v075q5fr@ubvmsb.cc.buffalo.edu (Scott J Gorcey) 1992-03-06 00:05
Why would Major Briggs be contacted by Windom Earle and say
"I'm in the black lodge." and the next dialogue (from LMFAP)
is "I'm waiting for you." ?
Remember, Briggs and Windom Earle were on Project Bluebook in
the sixties, but instead of looking for UFOs like the rest,
Briggs and Earle and probably a few others were looking for
odd occurences UNDER Twin Peaks and the Ghostwood/Black Lake
area.
Earle's talking to Briggs because ^he^ (WM) has finally found
what they were looking for in the 60s and because he (WM) sees
Briggs as a nemesis just as he sees Cooper as one (witness the
kidnap and near-death of Briggs by WM).
That's why -- he thinks it's a race and is announcing to Briggs
that he (WM) has won but the after-race fight is still on so
Briggs had better hurry up.
I want to know what drove WM crazy (I'm thinking he was crazy
before he killed his wife and Coop's lover). What did WM
find out about the Lodge in the sixties just before the FBI
closed Bluebook and put WM in other departments that WM is
just now getting back into? And will we now see a possessed
Earle just as we saw a possessed Leland? Did Leland become
"useable human form" after BOB somehow stole ^his^ soul when
Leland was a kid? Was Josie's soul stolen as well?
This could very quickly become "Night of the Living Dead" if
my theory is right. Uh. Forget it.

She plays an "older woman" whom Brandon Walsh is going out with. Another thing: Anyone else see Major Briggs in the movie "Kuffs"? This guy keeps popping up everywhere. He played a cop. And also we all know that Lara Flynn is in Wayne's World. But did anyone notice anyone else from the Twin Peaks cast? His role was very short. He played the announcer during the big production of the TV show. It was the guy who played Emory Battis. He also popped up on "Night Court" a few weeks ago. I'd first like to start off by saying that I am new to this conference. I too am a truly devoted Twin Peaks fan. Just glad that I'm not the only one out there! Anyways... Did anyone notice the differences between the waiting room(?) in Cooper's dream sequence, and the actual one that he entered in the last episode? The only thing I noticed was that the floor/carpet changed. In the dream sequence, there was a jagged design, with two alternating colors: red and beige(?). In the last episode, the design was basically the same, except that the colors were now a distinctive black and white. Now, I can only assume that the reason for this was to emphasize, and/or correct, that it symbolized the White/Black room--that is, the waiting room to enter one or the other. In the dream sequence, I'm sure they left it the red/beige color as to keep color continuity with the red drapes...[src]

What role did she play in TP? I just saw a movie with her yesterday, and it said, on the jacket blurb, that she was in the show. When the finale aired last June, I had a party at my house for which we
ordered three cherry pies from the Mar-T. They arrived safely just in time
for the party, and they were very good. Of course, the mood was right,
so maybe even bad cherry pie would've tasted good....Naw. They were damn
good cherry pies.
You had some good ideas in your post that I haven't seen here before.
I agree with the thought that Dale entered the lodge via love and Windom
entered via Annie's fear. The oil was just a clue that led Coop to the
right spot.

David Lynch is sharp.
It's just so fitting that the mode to get into the lodges occurrs in a grove of trees. I mean, symbolically, trees represent life. It only makes sense.
Also, it's a complete testament to the lifeformforce of cooper considering his obsession with the trees of twin peaks. One of the firsst things we discover about coop is his complete and utter fascination with the firs.
f
This also clues us into the best character in the series--the Log Lady. She is one of the most gifted charct
characters in tp and it's so fitting that her mode to the hyper-real is ner log--wood!
There were numerous mentions of trees and wood throughout the show and one of the fun things (for me) is cluing to these references and pulling meaning into the show (...and people thought that tp was only this frivolous, meaningless quirck from david lynch....shame on them....).

Here's a part of a article about Isabella Rossellini, with a statement
from her, which suprised me quite a bit:
She ended her 5 year old relation with David Lynch in a short
cut. "I suprised him in his apartment and discoverd strange glass
tubes. Rats layed in alcohol, heads of small crocodiles. I had
only fear [after that]"

Seems if Lynch is a weirdo in private too and if he scared his wife away..

RE: Metamorphasis (& Peaks Feature) rezabek1037@iscsvax.uni.edu 1992-03-11 16:22
RE: The Metamorphasis:
I read about Lynch's beetle-suit prob (no thanks to the wise-ass) in a magazine
interview... that was half a year ago. A person who seems to be "on the
up-and-up" about varying projects of this nature indicates to me that the whole
idea was scrapped, thanks in part to the new "Kafka" (quotes are mine...)
flick. In fact, word is that Lynch has had his hat in for "The Metaph" since
The Early Days, but typically, of a director "isn't wanted" to do a project,
there are plenty of ways to keep it out of those particular hands... one, of
course, being to sell the rights to ANOTHER director.........
So ixnay on the etamorphasismay
Further (and on a more appropos note, theorhetically,) for anyone who's
interested, this same "Source" says that the Peaks feature film is in the can,
but cannot get an american distributor! Apparently, Lynch is working right now
for a french film company, which is next going to re-finance a re-mastering of
Eraserhead.
All of this, of course, from a guy who tells me these things just because I'll
listen to THEM.......

Lynch comedy coming... raveling@Unify.com (Paul Raveling) 1992-03-11 19:29
A month or two ago I mentioned that David Lynch is producing a new comedy series, to begin airing in April... It's called "On The Air", and will include 6 episodes in addition to the pilot. Or was it including the pilot?... Anyway when I phoned Scott Frost last weekend they had just finished shooting the episode that he wrote. Scott also mentioned to look for his sister in "Nightmare Cafe". ------------------ Paul Raveling Raveling@Unify.com[src]
